In Canada, only a select group of professionals are qualified to provide chargeable immigration and citizenship services. Unauthorized representatives are not competent and are committing an offence if they charge you for their immigration or citizenship services. Licensed immigration consultants, by contrast, are part of a select group. Rigorously trained before certification to ensure they possess the necessary level of expertise, licensed immigration consultants are also regulated by a strict professional code of ethics and regulations that safeguard the ethical and cutting-edge quality of their services as authorized representatives. 

As a client, you will either benefit or suffer from the outcome of your representative’s work. To protect your interests, we urge you to remain vigilant when seeking immigration-related advice or representation. Always make certain that your consultant is a licensed immigration consultant, a member of The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC), before retaining their services. Additionally, some Canadian provinces (e.g. Quebec and Saskatchewan) require licensed immigration consultants to be registered with the provincial government as well. Please consult their registration status if you apply to these provinces.
